Step 1: Download iTunes 8.2.
Step 2: Launch iTunes. And then right clicking on iPhone name in the left side sidebar to backup your phone’s data and clik on backup

Step 5: Now simply restart your iPhone 3GS. Voila! You are now running a fully unlocked and jailbroken iPhone firmware 3.0 on your iPhone 3GS.
