It’s a good news because Apple has launched iTunes 8.2 and QuickTime 7.6.2 through software update menu today. This new launch of iTunes 8.2 can be a sign that iPhone OS 3.0 will be released to public soon considering iTunes 8.2 is equipped with support for iPhone OS 3.0. But don’t try to install 8.2 if you have plan to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.0.
Musclenerd from iPhone Dev Team warned about this. Because the latest version of iTunes 8.2 will alter on how your computer talks to the device. Tools like QuickPwn and Pwnage Tool will be affected when trying to identify what’s connected.
Actually it’s really because of anti-jailbreaking, this happens because of change that occurs in protocol i.e like the way iPhone and iPod mobile devices comunicate with computer.
Be sure to downgrade to older iTunes version for anyone who have upgraded to iTunes 8.2. For Windows user can be done by simply uninstall 8.2 through control panel (CP).
And for Mac Users need to run following command on Terminal to completely uninstall iTunes 8.2.
sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DeviceLink.framework /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iTunesAccess.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreFP.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework
This way will make your iTunes 8.2 files permanently deleted from your Mac.
If you’re thinking to download older version of iTunes head towards oldapps.com
If you have not upgraded or installed iTunes 8.2 then wait till iPhone Dev team come up with working version of QuickPwn & Pwnagetool.

Your link to download old mac versions is wrong. none the less, that website says its no longer available for download.
If I delete Itunes from my PC, and I reinstall the earlier version, will my library still be there?
