Tip number 2: Manually via Registry Key
The second tip takes a bit more effort that requires you to access windows registry to locate Nero Serial Number. By the good news is this tip still works even after you have removed and uninstalled Nero via Nero General Clean tool.
How to Retrieve Nero Serial Number Manually Via Registry Key
1. Click on “Start Run” and type “REGEDIT” in the field “Open”
2. Click on “OK” to open the Registration Editor.
3. Open the file.
For Nero 5 and Nero 6:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> AHEAD -> NERO BURNING ROM ->INFO
For Nero 7:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> AHEAD -> INSTALLATION -> FAMILIES -> NERO 7 -> INFO
For Nero 8:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> NERO -> INSTALLATION -> FAMILIES -> NERO 8 -> INFO
For Nero 9:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> NERO -> SHARED -> NL9
4. Your serial number will appear in the right-hand window of the Registration Editor in the line “Serial”.
5. Please make a note of your serial number.
